America Walks and the Every Body Walk! Collaborative are excited to announce the 2017 National Walking Summit, “Vital and Vibrant Communities: The Power of Walkability” to be held at the Intercontinental Riverfront Hotel in St. Paul, Minnesota. The National Walking Summit has always explored the co-benefits walking and walkability can provide to an individual and community. For the 2017 National Walking Summit, the conference will expand what is meant by the term “healthy” to include not only physical health, but also  social, economic and civic health. Walkability is at the cornerstone of creating neighborhoods that are vital and vibrant, allowing all members of a community to enjoy health, social and economic benefits in a variety of forms.

The exciting two and one-half-day event will be filled with seminars, break-out sessions and Learning-From-Place Mobile Workshops that will bring together the walking community. Below is a draft program and agenda for the 2017 National Walking Summit. Information is subject to change. Please note that meals are only included as indicated below.

You need pre-register for the September 13 Learning-From-Place Mobile Workshops, designed and moderated by the Local Host Committee, and Intensive Trainings as they have limited space. Please note that any session listed with an asterisk requires transportation costs which are not included in registration. Already registered and need to make a change? Contact Susan Feldman at sfeldman@americawalks.org.

Advance registration is NOT required any of the other conference events, including for the September 14-15 program sessions that are open to all Summit attendees.
